A little more indepth look at Jace's first 5 days

Jeff had worked all day, all night and all morning. I picked him up to take him home, (we needed both cars to get to the zoo with the Schuddes so I had taken him to work) but we ran out of time so he had to come with me to my Dr. appointment. At our appointment, my blood pressure was high so they checked everything else and then had me lay down and checked it again. It was still too high so we talked about bed rest, but our doctor thought the best idea was to induce labor before my blood pressure became really dangerous for us both. They did an ultrasound and he was measuring 7+ pounds so we headed home to grab things and go to the hospital. Thanks Tara for babysitting for us while we were at the hospital. It was super nice not to worry about where the boys were and how they were doing. Jeff was able to grab one of his birthday pies and some whip cream before we left the house.

Wow! I look huge! We forgot our camera (it was in the diaper bag from the zoo the day before). Lucky for us we have great friends just down the street. Thanks James and Molly for picking up our camera and bringing it to us.

Daddy got to change his first poopy diaper. The older boys had nasty black meconium, but this was some serious tar. It took like 10 wipes and some serious elbow grease to get it off.

Trying to get his tube out of his mouth. Everytime we went in Jace had pulled out his OG tube. He also really likes to suck on his fingers.

So sad, he is all swollen and he hurt. Poor baby!

Luckily for us Grandma was able to catch an early flight and was there on Friday to help us out with the kids and babysit while we visited Jace in the hospital.

Ethan loves apples. This picture is just too funny!

Ethan is super tender was so broken hearted to see his baby brother like this. He kept asking why HIS brother was sick and needed all the tubes.

Daddy explained all about the things hooked to Jace and what they were for.

They had to check temperatures so they could visit. Austin kept biting the thermometer.

Thanks Erin, Molly and Laura for coming to visit us in the hospital, it made the time go quickly to have visitors.
